Star Striker

Star Striker is a 1-player space-themed arcade game for the BBC Micro. The player uses their three-part spacecraft to destroy incoming alien vessels. The ship moves laterally at the bottom of the screen and fires directly forward while a number of different enemy vessels appear.

The player starts with the forward-most part of the ship. This is a small vessel with a single gun turret. If this vessel is destroyed, the player will utilize the second part, which is wider and fires two shots at once. Finally, the third and largest part of the craft is used.

Every four stages, the player has the chance to dock their spacecraft with the remaining larger section. This creates a new larger craft with increased firepower. It is possible to crash during the docking sequence, losing a section of the craft. After defeating all stages, the ship pieces again separate.
