Venus Venture

Venus Venture is a 1-player arcade game for the 8-bit Atari.

The player controls a man who moves laterally at the bottom of the screen, and can throw a pitchfork up into the sky at an invading alien spaceship. The alien vessel moves laterally at the top of the screen, and the goal is to destroy the protective barrier at the bottom center of the spaceship to reach the inside of the ship and destroy it. When the ship is destroyed, the player advances to the next identical level. The player has limited time to complete this task and, if they hit any other part of the ship, a lighting bolt streaks down and hits the player, reducing available time. If time runs out, the game is lost.
