Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids

Description
Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is a hybrid third-person action and real-time strategy game. It combines elements of base-building, unit management, and direct character combat in a stylized comic book-inspired setting. The game takes place on Earth during an invasion by the alien Brainioids, who steal the planet’s Brainium crystals using Grav Spheres. Players control Chip, a young inventor, and his robotic cat companion Clawz, tasked with reclaiming the crystals and halting the invasion. The campaign unfolds across missions that culminate in battles against high-ranking Brainioid commanders, while optional side missions and collectibles expand the narrative and unlock additional upgrades.
Missions typically involve defending a headquarters while eliminating enemy bases or bosses. Players construct various structures that produce robots, gather resources, or provide support. Robot types include Miners, Shooters, Boxers, Flyers, and Artillery, each with specific functions and counters. Bases and units are placed in real time, either directly on the battlefield or through a top-down Command View, which allows players to set rally points and organize forces.
In addition to strategic management, players directly control Chip and Clawz in third-person combat. Chip is able to enhance structures and robots through overdrive abilities, while Clawz specializes in repairing damaged buildings. Both can attack enemies with melee and ranged weapons, and each has access to unique vehicles. Missions generally last around twenty minutes and feature optional objectives, with some dedicated challenge missions offering additional rewards such as blueprints for new structures, weapons, and passive upgrades.
The game includes several cooperative and competitive modes. The story campaign can be played solo or in two-player co-op, either via split-screen or online, with one player controlling Chip and the other Clawz. Competitive multiplayer offers PvP skirmishes in 1v1 or 2v2 formats, available locally or online, with full cross-platform support.
The game employs a bright, comic book-inspired art style and a lighthearted tone, featuring humorous dialogue and a cast of eccentric supporting characters. Collectibles such as rare comic books and blueprints provide lore details about the Brainioids and expand gameplay options.
