Eagle

Eagle is a 1-player space-themed arcade game for the BBC Micro.

The player is now a member of the elite corps known as the Intergalactic Geologists. The moons of the planet Thrug have been said to contain large amounts of rare trace elements, but the treacherous asteroid belts and lethal underground passages have made it impossible to send a remote probe to survey. The player must pilot an Eagle Automatic Survey Ship through the moons.

The player's ship can move left, right, and accelerate upwards, while gravity continues to accelerate the ship downwards. Iridium pods replenish a small amount of the ship's energy by passing over them. Hitting any obstacles during descent will cost the player's energy, and it's game over if energy reaches 0. Shields can be deployed for a short period of time to reduce damage at the cost of energy.
