Description

Microzine is an educational disk-based magazine published by Scholastic between 1983 and 1992. Each issue generally contains a simple adventure game, often with a Choose Your Own Adventure Style. Issue no. 36 contains: Computer Stuff: Microzine* data disk initiation

  • Dr. Think & The Idea Factory: the player is transported 100 years into the past by Dr. Think's doorknob within a time capsule. There, they must learn about 8 famous inventors and their invention, and then answer a brief quiz about what they learned. If answered correctly, the player can enter The Idea Factory, where they can create their own machine to return them to the present day.

  • It Fits!: the player must fit different shapes into a puzzle outline to completely fill the outline. There are 12 puzzles in total.

  • Letter: stories from the editor, and people who have written into Microzine

  • Monitor Mystery: The Case of the Crafty Caper: the player must solve a mystery related to missing balloons at the school fair. The player must answer questions from clues derived from a short story and picture.

  • Trap Doors: a game similar to Minesweeper, where the player must navigate through a room by avoiding trap doors. The player is told how many squares nearby contain trapdoors.
