Description

Microzine Jr. is an educational disk-based magazine for students under age 10 published by Scholastic starting in 1988. Each issue generally contains a simple adventure game, often with a Choose Your Own Adventure Style. Issues also contain software to initialize a data disk, as well as letters to the editor. Issue no. 6 contains:

  • Bobo's Fun House: A side-scrolling adventure game, where the player must rescue their little brother from Bobo's Fun House. The player explores the numerous rooms of the house, and can walk, jump, and climb up and down stairs. The player can take and use items, with the goal of placating the various clowns that infest the fun house.
  • Fuzzy to Focused: Pictures gradually go from fuzzy to clear over several steps. The player tries to guess the picture at maximum fuzziness. There are 15 pictures in total.
  • Information, please: Amazing Animals: A database of 50 North American animals, that can be searched by size, type, rarity, habitat, and more. The player must answer questions by the forgetful Dr. Hester Mumbley by looking up the information in the database.
  • Micro Mystery: The Case of the Missing Lunchbox: While out on a school picnic lunch, someone has stole your classmate Howie's lunchbox. The player must examine a picture and read a short story to answer questions about the culprit.
