Description

Microzine Jr. is an educational disk-based magazine for students under age 10 published by Scholastic starting in 1988. Each issue generally contains a simple adventure game, often with a Choose Your Own Adventure Style. Issues also contain software to initialize a data disk, as well as letters to the editor. Issue no. 8 contains:* Let's Celebrate: A series of short interactive stories about American holidays: Independence Day, Flag Day, Columbus Day, and Thanksgiving Day. With the help of a book in the attic, the player is transported back to the historical event the holiday is named after, and joins in the adventure while answering multiple choice questions.

  • Micro Mystery: The Cookie Caper: Someone has stolen Chip Chester's famous cookies, which he had cooked for his teacher Miss Munching's birthday. The player must examine a picture for clues, and answer a number of questions to determine the culprit.
  • Paint the Floor: Attempt to fill in every square in a grid by moving from square to square. Each square can be moved on only once.
  • Touch the Target: Direct a laser to a target using a series of mirrors while avoiding obstacles in the way.
