Still Wakes the Deep

Description
Still Wakes the Deep is a first-person narrative horror game, set on an offshore oil rig in the North Sea during the 1970s. The player assumes the role of Caz McLeary, an electrician caught in the midst of a catastrophic disaster after the rig drills into an unknown presence beneath the sea. With communications cut off and evacuation impossible, the game focuses on survival as the environment deteriorates under violent storms and a spreading, otherworldly threat.
The game emphasizes immersion and atmosphere over traditional gameplay systems. Players have no access to weapons or supernatural abilities and must instead rely on avoidance, stealth, and environmental navigation to progress. Core interactions involve running, climbing, swimming, and operating industrial machinery such as valves and levers, often under time pressure or threat. The structure is highly linear, guiding the player through a fixed sequence of events with minimal opportunity for exploration or deviation from the main path.
