The Twin Orbs of Aalinor
Description
The Twin Orbs of Aalinor is a fantasy text adventure for the BBC Micro and Electron.
The first age of Aalinor saw the rising of Gorgoroth, Lord of the Underworld. In that time, great evil was done to the people of Aalinor. The wise lord Geremot saw the evil of Gorgoroth and was driven to master the power of the twin orbs of Aalinor to chain Gorgoroth in the heart of Mount Doom, where he could do no harm. But such was the force of Gorgoroth's resistance that the orbs were thrown apart and lost, and Lord Geremot was hurled into a time vortex until the orbs are re-fused.
Gorgoroth seeks to free himself from the chains of Mount Doom by recovering the twin orbs and turning their power to his own purpose. So far his servants have only recovered one of the orbs, but are still searching feverishly for the second. The player must recover both orbs and fuse them to set Lord Geremot and prevent the release of Gorgoroth.
All commands are via VERB NOUN entry. There are various treasures to collect along the way, and the maximum score is 201.
