Cosmos / Demolish / Task Force

Cosmos / Demolish / Task Force is a compilation of three previously unreleased games for the BBC Micro.

• Cosmos: The player controls a spaceship that moves laterally on the bottom of the screen and fires vertically. The player tries to shoot and destroy a large alien swarm that moves back and forth at the top of the screen. To complicate this, enemy diving shielders sweep in from the edge of the screen and fire at the player. These ships always run straight towards the player.

• Demolish: The player controls a laser gun that moves horizontally and fires vertically from the bottom of the screen. Trapped by a large red wall, the player must blast away the wall while avoiding falling bricks, radioactive particles, and mutated lifeforms.

• Task Force: Each player controls five battleships separated by a large island at the beginning of the game. Each turn, all five battleships can move, and each player fires from a single ship each turn. Battleship firing is controlled by selecting an angle and firepower. If a ship is hit, it's sunk. Every few turns, both players fly a kamikaze plane from the corner of the screen. The two players move their planes simultaneously, and whichever player manages to hit a ship first sinks that vessel.
