Higurashi: When They Cry - Ch.3: Tatarigoroshi

Higurashi: When They Cry - Ch.3: Tatarigoroshi is an updated re-release of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Tatarigoroshi-hen, the third chapter in the Higurashi: When They Cry series of visual novels. This version allows the player to choose updated character sprites in place of the original game's sprites, and to switch between English and Japanese at any time.

Higurashi is a simple visual novel without branching paths or choices, where the player simply advances the text to read the story. After finishing each chapter, the player unlocks a number of optional bonus scenes called "TIPS".

The protagonist in Tatarigoroshi is Keichii Maebara, a teenage boy who has recently moved into the remote Japanese village of Hinamizawa. Keichii quickly develops a close friendship with a group of schoolgirls and joins their game club. However, these fun days come to an end when an abusive uncle of one of Keiichi's friends returns to the village.
