Orbit Zero

Orbit Zero is a 1-player arcade game for the BBC Micro.

Played from a 1st person perspective, the player is a space pilot tasked with defending one of Earth's eight stratosphere layers. Armed with Mega-Bolts, the player must destroy Fusion Bombers before they descend to a lower stratosphere level. The location and distance of enemy vessels are displayed at the top right of the screen, and the screen and target scrolls laterally, while the player can move up and down to target enemy vessels.

Fusion Bombers are escorted by Scorpion Fighters, which fire Blue Ice homing missiles towards the player. The player's goal is to destroy a set number of bombers while avoiding being destroyed by enemy fire or allowing too many bombers to descend. If successful, the player is promoted to a lower, more difficult stratosphere level.
