Unloved

Game cover: Unloved

Description

Unloved is a single-player and multiplayer first-person shooter with roguelike and horror elements. The game places the player in an abandoned house corrupted by hellish forces. The setting is presented as a series of interconnected dungeons that shift and rearrange themselves with each playthrough. There is no overarching narrative beyond the atmosphere of torment and decay, but the player’s goal is clear: explore the labyrinthine corridors, fight off abominations, and survive long enough to reach the exits.

Combat is fast-paced and violent, with enemies emerging from shadows, vents, and dimensional rifts. Players use a range of firearms such as pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles, along with melee weapons and explosives. Ammunition and supplies are limited, forcing exploration and scavenging between fights. Enemies vary from twisted humanoid figures to monstrous demons, each with different attack patterns that require quick reactions and careful use of cover.

Levels are procedurally generated, ensuring that the placement of enemies, doors, and objectives changes from run to run. Weapons and upgrades are found during exploration, and performance within missions contributes to a ranking system that influences rewards. Character growth occurs through an unlock system tied to Karma, a persistent progression feature. As players complete missions, they gain points that open up new traits, modifiers, and customization options.

Up to four players can join together online, sharing supplies and fighting through dungeons as a team. Difficulty scales with the number of participants, and cooperative coordination becomes essential against stronger waves of enemies.
