Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai: Meakashi-hen
Description
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai: Meakashi-hen is the fifth release in the Higurashi: When They Cry visual novel series. This release includes only part 5 of Higurashi, titled "Meakashi-hen". It is the first part in the sub-series Kai, whose story arcs answer the mysteries posed in parts 1 through 4.
It is a simple visual novel without branching paths or choices, where the player simply advances the text to read the story. After finishing each chapter, the player unlocks a number of optional bonus scenes called "TIPS".
The protagonist in "Meakashi-hen" is a feisty, independent heir of a yakuza family, who returns to her home village of Hinamizawa, only to unexpectedly fall in love. However, her romance takes a dark turn.
