Description
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai: Tsumihoroboshi-hen is the sixth release in the Higurashi: When They Cry visual novel series. It includes parts 5 and 6 of the novel: "Meakashi-hen" and "Tsumihoroboshi-hen".
It is a simple visual novel without branching paths or choices, where the player simply advances the text to read the story. After finishing each chapter, the player unlocks a number of optional bonus scenes called "TIPS".
"Tsumihoroboshi-hen" has two viewpoint characters: Keichii Maebara, a teenage boy who has recently moved into the remote Japanese village of Hinamizawa, and his friend Rena Ryuuguu. As Rena's divorced father prepares to remarry, Rena feels unable to accept his new wife. Soon, events escalate and a tragedy occurs.
